All sides of that what appears to be 100% original. There was a hunting license under the top plate that has the date of Michigan, 1943-1944. The marks are guessing that six digits of the serial number and the name "Smithsonian".

I have never mentioned the gun manufacturers Smithsonian heard .. but you have to go to a dealer or check out online reputation for the production and action. Also an antique could be useful .. A panel of either the gun around to take photographs and any other documents you have, just so you will not be mistaken for a thief
